Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National park

You will be welcomed by a guide who will drive north of Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park viewing spectacular scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House / Hotel La Palme / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Le bambou Gorilla lodge, Virunga lodge, Gorillas Nest, Sabyinyo Silverback.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking & Cultural /Nature Walk

Breakfast and head to the park headquarters with packed lunch & water for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. Time take searching for these Gentle giants ranges between 2-8hours depending on the movement of gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay at your respective lodges on DAY 1.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking.

Enjoy your breakfast and head for yet another adventure of tracking the rare golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. Return to the lodge for lunch and leave for Kigali. Dinner and overnight stay in Kigali.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Take your breakfast and drive to south western Rwanda to Nyungwe Forest national park. Enroute stop in Butare town to visit Rwanda National Museum, then Murambi genocide memorial museum. Proceed to the forest, relax at the lodge as you wait for dinner & overnight. Nyungwe forest lodge / Peace guest house /

Day 5: Chimpanzee and other primates tracking, afternoon canopy walk

After breakfast, proceed for chimpanzees tracking in the forest with the park rangers. Expect an encounter with other primates like colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, vervets, mangabeys, and many others. After lunch, we go for a canopy walk adventure, dinner and overnight stay as on DAY 4.

Day 6: Departure.

Have breakfast and drive back to Kigali with enroute visit to Murambi genocide memorial,  Rwanda National Museum in Huye and Nyanza King’s Palace as well as Gisozi genocide memorial center in Kigali, do last minute shopping before driving to the airport for the scheduled flight back home.
